Two local cyclists in Eugene, Oregon, have created a new online challenge to get you out of your car and exploring the community in a fresh way. To encourage more people to use their bikes, Tomoko Sekiguchi and fellow cyclist Jaron Rosenau created “Quest by Cycle,” a web-based scavenger hunt-style game that encourages sustainable transportation by completing a variety of cycling-related tasks. Some of the tasks also include taking your bike on the bus to get to a destination. Riding the bus can help bike commuters go farther more easily and offers flexibility, which is an area of focus for Lane Transit District, says Dave Roth, LTD’s Director of Mobility Planning & Policy. Quest by Cycle is free to play. Get started.
