College students can get a free student bus pass from LTD

Many students who attend college in the Eugene-Springfield area are eligible for free passes to ride LTD buses. Riding the bus is a convenient way for students to get where they need to go and avoid campus parking hassles as well as the added expense of having their own vehicle. When Bella came to the University of Oregon as a freshman, she soon found LTD was a great way to get around town. She says it’s easier than students might think to start riding the bus. Get a code from the school and enter it into the Umo app, and you’re good to go.

As a Transit Operations Supervisor for Lane Transit District, Javier provides dispatch communications and internal support to LTD’s team of bus operators. He was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. at age 12. He says he’s found his home at LTD, where he’s built a long-term career. He credits LTD’s training program for giving him the skills he needs and allowing him to provide a good life for his family while helping others.

Lane County students can get a free student bus pass from LTD

Lane Transit District is spreading the word that students in Lane County are eligible for free bus passes. The passes are easy to access, and they make it convenient and affordable for families to get around. All K-12 students in Lane County who attend public schools or private charter schools, or who are homeschooled, are eligible for a free bus pass through LTD. When 17-year-old Cyrus landed his first job, he found the bus filled his need for reliable transportation. Even though he has his driver’s license now, he says, the bus is still a great alternative.
